Sports Core Health and Racquet Club Offers Fitness Experiences with Rock Steady Boxing Designed to Aid Patients with Parkinson’s

KOHLER, Wis. – September 12, 2019 – Sports Core Health and Racquet Club, a longstanding fitness facility and wellness resource serving the Sheboygan County community, is adding Rock Steady to its offering – a specialty boxing program designed to enhance and improve quality of life for people who are battling Parkinson’s disease. The classes are inspired by the training professional boxers receive and are tailored to each guest.

“Rock Steady boxing classes provide a unique type of exercise to help people who have Parkinson’s gain some steadiness and fight back against the disease,” said Kevin Donnelly, Manager Sports Core. “Our well-trained coaching staff focuses on improving our guests physically, as well as building their confidence.” Open to men and women of all ages and levels of ability, courses can involve stretching, bicycling, running, jump-roping, push-ups, balancing and non-contact boxing.

The Rock Steady boxing program adds to the growing collection of fitness activities at Sports Core, as well as contributing to the burgeoning portfolio of wellness experiences at Destination Kohler. Well-known for its robust tennis program, Sports Core offers multiple high-intensity fitness classes such as, Code Red, Boot Camp, TRX, and SPINTERVAL. Guests can also enjoy a stop at Take 5 Café, which offers a healthy selection of food and beverages to help replenish the body.

On the heels of its continued commitment to wellness to area residents and Destination Kohler guests, Sports Core is celebrating its 40thanniversary. Starting October 7 through November 22, membership enrollment is $40. New and existing members are welcomed to celebrate the milestone at the November 15th anniversary party from 6–9p.m., featuring champagne, hors d’oeuvres and live music.
