Kohler Waters Spa Launches Innovative 2019-2020 Menu of Services, Influenced by Global Wellness Trends

Pioneer in hydrotherapy continues to enrich its well-being platform with cutting-edge treatments, utilizing virtual reality technology, cannabidiol and ancient masseuse methods

KOHLER, Wis. – April 25, 2019 – Kohler Waters Spa – the industry leader in hydrotherapy and one of 64 Forbes Five-Star spas in the world – debuts its annual 2019-2020 Menu of Services on May 1, 2019. Under the leadership of Garrett Mersberger, Director of wellness and Kohler Waters Spa at Kohler Co. and Chairman of the Board, International Spa Association, many of the new 17 result-orientated offerings reflect global spa and wellness trends, including: CBD-infused and holistic treatment methods; heightened personalization; a focus on mindfulness and meditation; and an increased use of technology.

“We are pleased to unveil these first-time services, such as the Stressless CBD-Infused Massage, Virtual Reality Pedicure and Thai Massage, and look forward to developing more offerings in the future that integrate wellness insights,” said Mersberger. “This menu reinforces Kohler’s continuous commitment to evolving our guests’ well-being journey through customized experiences that are at the forefront of industry trends.”

Available through early 2020 at the flagship Kohler Waters Spa at the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond American Club in Kohler, Wis.; LODGE KOHLER in Green Bay, Wis.; and Burr Ridge, Ill., services on the menu will also be featured at the much-anticipated Kohler Co. spa in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood (opening in August 2019). Highlights include:

  • Hydro Rock: With the healing powers of water at the center of Kohler Waters Spa, the menu adds two hydrotherapy experiences: Hydro Rock and Tranquil Tides. The skin-nourishing Hydro Rock treatment incorporates warm to cool transitions to increase blood flow, circulation and mindfulness. For easy mineral absorption, a Himalayan salt scrub removes toxins and inflammation from the body.
  • Stressless CBD-Infused Massage: Using a non-psychoactive chemical, cannabidiol, this natural massage penetrates deep in the skin to relax the body and mind, relieving tight muscles, lessening anxiety and aiding chronic pain and inflammation. The spa will also sell CBD tinctures, healing balms and oils, and hopes to introduce more CBD-infused treatments in the coming months with facials, pedicures and manicures.
  • Thai Massage: This ancient, meditative and rhythmic massage employs yoga-centric stretching performed on a table to realign posture, increase flexibility, reduce pain and relieve stress. To master this traditional practice, 50 of Kohler’s distinguished therapists participated in an intensive 27-hour Thai training certification.
  • Virtual Reality Pedicure: Combining a foot and leg exfoliation alongside a guided mediation via a virtual reality headset, this enhanced pedicure leads guests into a deep relaxation. Guests can further personalize with a selection of several virtual reality options to improve breathing and mindfulness.

In response to spa-enthusiasts growing desire for experiences that boast long-term health benefits, Kohler Waters Spa will permanently add five of its popular, holistic treatments to its menu. Relax-ology, a pressure-point manipulation of the feet; and Cupping Massage, an ancient form of alternative medicine with a modern twist, will be available at all three locations. Both Destination Kohler and LODGE KOHLERwill offer Acupuncture, for pain, stress and insomnia relief; and Acussage, a rejuvenating combination of acupuncture and massage. Spa-goers at Destination Kohler can enjoy Gua Sha, a natural therapy using a scraping motion to improve circulation.

Kohler’s dedication to preserving the well-being of its guests is evident at the award-winning Destination Kohler through various initiatives, including: Yoga on the Lake, a holistic studio boasting picturesque views of the serene Wood Lake; Sports Core Health & Racquet Club, a private fitness club with a range of dynamic classes; Bold Cycle, a boutique indoor studio that motivates cyclists to ride to the next level; and River Wildlife, a 500-acre wilderness preserve with activities for every season. The acclaimed resort-hotel (just one-hour north of Milwaukee and two-and-a-half hours north of Chicago) is also home to two championship golf courses: Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run; a bucket list for any golfer, The Straits at Whistling Straits will become the first public course since 1991 to host the coveted 2020 Ryder Cup.

For an enhanced well-being experience for the mind, body and soul, guests can build an encompassing itinerary with the resort’s on-site Wellness Concierge prior to or during their stay. Additionally, LODGE KOHLER has an expert “on-call” available for personalized yoga workshops and meditation/mindfulness sessions.
