KOHLER, Wis. - January 29, 2018 - The International SPA Association (ISPA) has announced the election of Garrett Mersberger, director of wellness and Kohler Waters Spas at Kohler Co., as chairman of the ISPA Board of Directors.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the ISPA Board of Directors,” said Mersberger. “I am grateful for the confidence the board has shown in me and am privileged to serve our members in a greater capacity.”
Mersberger has been in the hospitality industry for more than 18 years. Working for both Kohler Co. and ClubCorp, Mersberger has managed multiple businesses and gained extensive knowledge in the health, wellness and private club sectors of the industry.
As Director of Kohler Waters Spas, Mersberger oversees Kohler Co. wellness offerings and the four Kohler Waters Spa locations: Kohler Waters Spa at The American Club in Kohler, Wis.; Kohler Waters Spa at Burr Ridge in Burr Ridge, Ill.; Kohler Waters Spa at LODGE KOHLER in Green Bay, Wis.; and the Kohler Waters Spa at the Old Course Golf Resort and Spa in St. Andrews, Scotland. The Kohler Waters Spa portfolio is known for its innovative water services and Five-Star customer service worldwide. Most notably the Kohler Waters Spa at The American Club is one of only 56 Forbes Five-Star spas in the world. Mersberger is currently managing the expansion of the Kohler Waters Spa at The American Club in Kohler on the heels of opening the business’s fourth location last July at LODGE KOHLER in Green Bay.
Mersberger was elected to the ISPA Board of Directors in February 2016 serving as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board. Previous ISPA Chairman Todd Shaw accepted the position of National Manager - Country Club for Technogym, creating a change in his ISPA membership category from a spa to a resource partner. With this change, per the association’s bylaws, he will no longer able to serve as chairman.
